December 2025 KIC! wrap-up

Our final Keep It Clean! event took place on 14 December 2025 at South Inlet Park in Boca Raton and it was a great way to end our year of volunteering! Our 7 volunteers managed to remove 93lbs -- just short of our 100lb per cleanup goal -- of trash and marine debris, including 18lbs of fishing line and marine rope! While the beach itself is seeing less traffic, the park is still incredibly busy and the removal of 93lbs is a testament to how clean we've managed to keep this entire park throughout 2025. Eshleman Pavilion is certainly the most used portion of the park, aside from the beach of course, and the pavilion and surrounding area are 100% visibly cleaner than they were in February when we began our Keep It Clean! events here.
Over the course of 2025, Jeepers Keepers and our tenacious volunteers logged 278 service hours and managed to remove 1,707lbs of trash and marine debris from South Inlet Park! This includes hundreds of pounds of scrap and waste wood, fishing line, and marine rope, along with untold hundreds of pounds of bottles, bottle caps, sandals, and baby wipes! I'm hopeful in 2026 that we'll be able to bring our cleanup total to over 2,000lbs at our next park!
It was an amazing year spent at South Inlet Park, we met so many incredible young people, who are passionate about keeping their environment clean, not only for themselves but for everyone that enjoys the Park. As the year went on, more and more park regulars were coming up to us, remarking at how clean the park has been, particularly the fishermen who were very surprised at how much junk we had removed from the Jetty!
We're looking forward to a bigger and more productive 2026! We'll see you all in February, at a new park!
