What a spectacular day! Even though it was dark the morning of the 16th, as soon as we arrived at South Inlet Park, the temps were already climbing towards 80F. We set up a volunteer station between Beach Access 01 and 02, for our volunteers to check-in and drop off any trash they picked up; we were joined by two new volunteers and our entire Board of Directors showed up!

Even before I finished giving the safety briefing, Tina-Marie, our secretary and co-founder, hauled in a rusty bicycle that was missing its wheels. Throughout the course of the next hour, our volunteers were able to remove 180lbs of trash and marine debris from the beach and jetty, including a wayward marine buoy. This now brings us just shy of 300lbs of trash removed from this beach in two months, think of how much we'll remove by the end of the year!
