November 2025 KIC! wrap-up

November was a very busy month for Jeepers Keepers, we had two cleanups!

On 9 Nov 2025, we had volunteers from the Divine Savior Academy Delray Beach and from the Pine Crest School Boca Raton join us for our #KeepItClean! event at South Inlet Park; We were very excited to see some returning volunteers from previous cleanups. We had a fantastic morning and despite temperatures hovering in the low 80s, we worked up a big sweat! Our volunteers managed to remove 115.5lbs of trash and marine debris from the park.

On 16 Nov 2025, we had another #KeepItClean! event with students from the gifted program at Somerset Parkland Academy. This was our largest volunteer event to date, with 35 volunteers! It was amazing working with these kids, they were all highly motivated and turned our 3-hour cleanup into a giant competition! Since our organization was just here the week prior, I instructed our volunteers to prioritize finding and removing microplastics from South Park Inlet. At the end of our event, these intrepid students managed to remove over 150lbs of trash and microplastics, and they were able to locate and remove 141lbs of discarded and scrap wood! They managed to remove 306.5lbs, wow! Look for more cleanups with Somerset Parkland in 2026!

With these two cleanups on the books, we've managed to remove 1,614lbs of trash and marine debris from South Inlet Park! This is such a huge accomplishment for the health of this park!
